Long-delayed electric train services to Penang next month


The long-delayed electric train services between Butterworth and Kuala Lumpur are expected to start in July, according to transport minister Liow Tiong Lai.
He said trial runs were being carried out on the performance of the train sets.
“On July 9, I will personally head to Batu Gajah in Perak to attend a trial run with other government officials to check on the Ipoh-Butterworth trains,” he said here after a party event, according to Star Online.
“Only after that, I will announce the important details of this new route, such as the schedule and the fares,” he was quoted as saying. Read more
